GMT Master II Pepsi 3186 Suisse
The history of the Rolex GMT-Master began with a collaboration with the now-defunct Pan American Airways. The first model was released in 1954-1955 and was offered to the crew of long-haul flights. Its main feature was the second time zone (GMT) with a dedicated hand showing the time on the red and blue rotating bezel with a 24-hour display, hence the nickname "Pepsi".
The model quickly became popular as a pilot's watch and very recognizable among travelers worldwide.
Various improvements and metal variants have been launched over the years, such as two-tone, all-gold, but the most famous remain the steel versions nicknamed the red/black Coke bezel (now discontinued), the red/blue Pepsi bezel, and Batman for the blue and black bezel model reference 116710BLNR like this watch.
